Christmas Cutting Skills

Description

Getting younger pupils used to handling a scissors and cutting lines or patterns is a useful activity for fine motor skills. Pupils with special educational needs may also need some extra practice with this activity. This seasonal resource requires pupils to cut along the patterns on bookmark sized cards. There are five different patterns to be cut out with 40 different pages of cutting activities.

The resource includes straight lines, curved lines, zig-zag lines, right-angle lines and straight/semi-circular lines. It also includes eight coloured seasonal images for each cutting pattern. There are three bookmarks on each A4 page.

The pages could be printed on normal A4 photocopier paper or on coloured paper. For more of a challenge, copy the patterns onto card where pupils’ fingers will have to work that little bit harder.
