I’m not sure where I came across this idea, but I did it with my class for Christmas some years ago and it was really nice. It works best with younger pupils.

You simply get a small box and cover it in Christmas Wrapping paper. Wrap some colourful ribbon around the gift box. Then print out this rhyme and attach it to the gift – now known as a “Box of Hugs”!

Pupils then bring the gift home to give to their parents.
